About Us

Terrey Hills Swim Club was established in 2006 to enable children of all ages and abilities who love their swimming to participate in swimming events.¬†Friday Night Races are held to put swimming skills into practice in a positive, nurturing team environment that builds¬†our children’s self confidence and, above all, encourages fun. Our club participates in all levels of swimming competition and is affiliated to Swimming Australia, Swimming NSW and Swimming Metro North East (SMNE), along with Warringah Amateur Swimming Association (WASA).

Meet The Team

John Asmus
Club Coach

John joined our team in 2012 from Carlile. His love for swimming can be seen through his enthusiastic and nurturing method of coaching.

Renato Godoy
Head Coach

Renato joined us in 2012 from Warringah Aquatic Centre where he was a high level Squad Coach for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Squads. Renato's education and qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Marketing & Bachelor of Sports Management
- Bronze License; Coach of State & Metro Swimmers
- Austswim Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- Teacher of Competitive Swimming 2011
- Represented Pinheiros in Brazil (1992-1997) as a competitive swimmer
- Water Polo Coach & Player

Rafael ‘Rafa’ Rodrigues

Rafa hails from Brazil! Rafa's coaching goals are to work with young swimmers to improve their technique whilst maintaining their love for swimming, encouraging them to train on at a higher level. His swimmer's personal achievements provide him great professional satisfaction. His education and qualifications include;
- Bachelor of Education
- Post Graduate Degree in Sports Physiology
- ASCTA bronze license recipient
- Austswim certificate holder

Patrick Thompson

Patrick has a passion for water, having grown up and participated in water activity his entire life. He has been a member of Freshwater SLSC since he was 8 years old, has been a volunteer lifeguard since 15, and has over 5 years experience in teaching and coaching swimming. He loves THSC - particularly the kids and the opportunity to build and grow his coaching skills.
